Kilkenny Arts Festival: Finghin Collins & Máire Carroll

14 August 2024 16:00

St. John’s Priory

Finghin Collins and Máire Carroll – two of Ireland’s most exciting pianists – join forces to perform this exhilarating programme of new music by contemporary composers from Ireland.

Commissioned by the New Ross Piano Festival over a number of years, The Ros Tapestry Suite is inspired by the tapestries of the same name that tell the story of the Norman invasion of Ireland. To mark the completion of these tapestries (now on display in Kilkenny Castle), Finghin Collins and Máire Carroll present the first performance of the entire Ros Tapestry Suite, an exhilarating journey through Ireland’s ancient past, in a thrilling mix of modern styles.
