Trevor Knight was born in England and moved to Ireland in the late 1950s. He began his early musical education studying piano.

Garth Knox is one of today’s leading performers of contemporary music, and his formative experience as a member of Pierre Boulez’s Ensemble InterContemporain and then as violist of the Arditti Quar

Tom Lane is a Dublin-based composer. He studied composition at Balliol College Oxford, the Royal Academy of Music and the Berlin University of the Arts.

Mick Langan studied composition with Don Ray, Bob Drasnin and orchestration with Conrad Pope of UCLA. and Screen Training Ireland.

Tony Langlois is an ethnomusicologist with a background in North African musical traditions. He teaches sound and other kinds of media at Mary Immaculate College in Limerick.

John F. Larchet was born in Dublin. He studied at the Royal Irish Academy of Music where his teachers included Michele Esposito.

Victor Lazzarini was born in Londrina, southern Brazil. He is a Senior Lecturer in Music at the NUI Maynooth, and a composer.

Frank Lyons was born in Lisburn, Co. Antrim, and studied electric guitar in his early teens.

Áine Mallon (b.1994) is an award winning, Irish born composer.

An Irish composer is defined as anyone who was born or is permanently resident in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland.
