Crash 25! Crash Ensemble and the IFI present [REACTIONS] Screening featuring music by CMC Composers
Irish Film Institute (IFI)

Crash Ensemble celebrate their 25th birthday this year with a series of events, performances, installations, the limited edition double album release of [REACTIONS] and this accompanying screening by filmmaker Laura Sheeran.
At the onset of the global pandemic, Crash Ensemble commissioned Irish and international composers from a range of musical backgrounds to write new works for duos within the group including CMC-represented composers: Amy Rooney, Anna Murray, Anselm McDonnell, David Fennessy, Deirdre Gribbin, Éna Brennan, Jonathan Nangle, Seán Ó Dálaigh, Sebastian Adams and Siobhán Cleary. The composers were invited to create a musical response to their experiences, the current state and their thoughts for the future. Each composer documented their creative process with text and imagery, offering a fly-on-the-wall view of their experience. The duos were filmed by Crash’s resident filmmaker, Laura Sheeran to create this programme of 17 short pieces.
Crash Ensemble is supported by the Arts Council, Dublin City Council and is resident ensemble at the National Concert Hall Dublin and Kilkenny Arts Festival. This event is present by Crash Ensemble and the Irish Film Institute.
