Ulysses Journey 2022: Newly-commissioned music & film works, screening throughout New Music Dublin

Presented by the Contemporary Music Centre, Ireland & Centre Culturel Irlandais in partnership with New Music Dublin.

As part of Ulysses Journey 2022 celebrating the 100th anniversary of the publication of Ulysses by James Joyce, CMC and CCI co-commissioned six new works by composers Ed Bennett, Darragh Kelly, Garth Knox, Anselm McDonnell, Ailís Ní Ríain and Ultan O'Brien, which are inspired by, reflect on and/or respond to Ulysses, together with films to accompany these new works by filmmakers Jonathan C. Creasy, Rioghnach Ní Ghrioghair, Ailís Ní Ríain, Ultan O’Brien, Laura Sheeran and Ross Wilson BEM & Art Ward.  

Ulysses Journey 2022 at New Music Dublin will be complemented by a live recording of CMC's podcast amplify discussing responses to the works of James Joyce in contemporary music, for further details on this event on 29 April, click here.

These new music and film works are supported by the Irish Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Decade of Centenaries 2012-2023 programme; New Music Dublin 2022; and One Dublin One Book 2022.
