Two Irish composers are represented on this CD by Irish pianist Roy Holmes: John Buckley's 'Three Lullabies for Deirdre' and A J Potter's 'Nocturne' in A Minor. Also included are works by Bach, Field, Debussy, Ravel, Granados, Beethoven, Schubert, Mendelssohn and Schumann.

Leading Irish harpist Cliona Doris performs works for concert harp by a number of the country's foremost composers, including Deirdre McKay, John Buckley, Philip Hammond and Michael Alcorn. Taking the title track from Deirdre McKay's work, the disc demonstrates a wide array of musical styles and approaches to the instrument, tackled with artistry and beguiling technical skill by the performer.

Volume Nine in a series of promotional CDs issued without charge by the Contemporary Music Centre to showcase the diverse range of work of Irish composers. The CD was produced with the assistance of funding from Culture Ireland, the Arts Council Music Recording Scheme 2009 and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.

This recording brings together the composer and guitarist Benjamin Dwyer with the Callino Quartet, performing Dwyer’s Guitar Quintet. Dwyer also performs his own Twelve Studies for Guitar and John Buckley’s Guitar Sonata No. 1.
