Kirkos Ensemble: Unit 44 Goodbye Party

Kirkos to present Sebastian Adams' 'Traffic Piece' and host Goodbye Party to mark closure of Unit 44.

Kirkos has announced that it will present a new work by composer Sebastian Adams titled 'Traffic Piece' this Thursday 27 March as well as a Goodbye Party on Friday 28 March, both to mark the closure of its Unit 44 music space. The contemporary music group announced last November that it would be moving from the space on Prussia Street in Dublin 7 because the shopping centre that includes Unit 44 was sold to a developer. Kirkos has occupied the space since 2021 and has hosted over 275 public events as well as over 500 rehearsals by music and arts groups.

Traffic Piece will begin at 6.30am with the composer and Tom Roseingrave performing, and during the day will also feature David Bremner, Sharon Phelan, Aonghus McEvoy, Susan Geaney, David Lacey, Nick Roth, Robert Coleman, Kevin Free, Jane Hackett, Hannah Miller and Caitríona O’Mahony, finishing with an open improv jam at 6.30pm and continuing ‘until the traffic ceases’.
