Ficino Ensemble present 'Folk Songs': Album Launch and First Performance featuring new works by Kevin O'Connell & Garrett Sholdice
St Ann’s Church

The launch and first performance of "Folk Songs", the new album from Irish chamber group Ficino Ensemble, and Irish vocalist Michelle O’Rourke, released on the Ergodos label.
The concert will be a performance of the full album, which presents Luciano Berio’s now classic collection of folk song arrangements from 1964, alongside four brand new works, each engaging with the ethos of folk song, specially commissioned from composers Judd Greenstein (USA), Kevin O’Connell (IRL), Kate Moore (AUS-NL), and Garrett Sholdice (IRL).
The evening will open with a CMC Composer's Voice event with CMC-represented composers Kevin O'Connell and Garrett Sholdice, and composer Kate Moore, in conversation with CMC Director Evonne Ferguson.
