Samhain Sound, a unique collaborative event is taking place on Saturday 2nd November at Civic House, Glasgow. Curated by award-winning composer Linda Buckley, the evening promises an immersive experience with performances, film screening with live score & installation.
To celebrate Samhain and the first days of winter, the evening includes sets from Brìghde Chaimbeul; leading purveyor of folk experimentalism and a master of the Scottish smallpipes, Kate Ellis; renowned cellist & Artistic Director of Crash Ensemble and Peaks Duo; (Duncan Strachan and George Smith) one half of the internationally-renowned Scottish chamber ensemble the Maxwell Quartet.
Alongside an interactive sound and light Installation by acclaimed Irish composer Jonathan Nangle, whose work explores notated acoustic and electro-acoustic composition through live and spatially distributed electronics to video. Berlin-based electronic pioneer Gudrun Gut will join acclaimed Irish composers Irene Buckley & Linda Buckley performing a live score to a screening of Murnau’s 1922 horror classic Nosferatu.
