Another World: Best of Brass Music From This Land

Another World: Best of Brass Music From This Land, brings the 1st Old Boys Band together with world-renowned soloists Peter Moore on trombone and tuba soloist Jonathan Gawn for an evening of music that celebrates works from composers, arrangers and performers with ties to Ireland, North and South. Conducted by Dr. Jonathan Corry.

Supported by the National Lottery through the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, the varied programme gives listeners the opportunity to hear revivals of older pieces considered lost, such as 'Erin Go Bragh' (1943) by Joan Trimble; music from composers who have faded from recent public memory such as the Belfast-born A.J. Potter (Finnegan's Wake); as well as a premiere from the pen of Dorothy Gates (Trombone Concerto 'Servant of Peace') and pieces by David Catherwood (Scherzo for tuba; Celebration fanfare).
