Kilkenny Arts Festival: Crash Ensemble - Postcards

For this unique ‘open house’ event, Crash Ensemble invite you to peek behind the scenes as they record Postcards, a series of short compositions by a diverse array of composers whose work explores our relationship with the environment.

Wander into Shee Alms House on Thursday 15th August to meet the musicians and staff of Crash Ensemble and see behind the scenes of their Postcard recordings.

Crash’s Postcard recordings will be series of 3-minute compositions by a diverse array of music creators: Dani Larkin, Emmelle Wadding, Jenn Kirby, Maeve Kelly, Michael Sullivan, Neil O’Connor, and Paul Scully, who, through their works, consider humanity’s relationship with the environment—exploring ideas around sustainability and climate action.

Crash will perform the pieces live later in the afternoon at 5.30pm and 6.30pm, with the final showing including a live podcast recording hosted by Kilkenny Arts Festival Director Olga Barry and some of the Postcard composers. It’s an open house at Shee Alms house, Crash Ensemble + crew look forward to meeting you.
