West Cork Music: Evelyn Grant in conversation with Bushra El-Turk and Sam Perkin

West Cork Music presents - 

This morning Evelyn Grant talks to our composer-in-residence, Bushra El Turk, about her new work Three Tributes, whose Irish premiere takes place later in the Festival (Event 52). This work is a co-commission with the Amsterdam String Quartet Biennale, the Borletti Buitoni Trust and ourselves. Dudok Quartet will perform Bushra's new quartet 'Three Tributes' 3 July 19:30.

Also in conversation is Cork composer Sam Perkin. Paddington Trio will perform Sam's work Freakshow, later today at 2pm (Event 37). Sam has also been commissioned by the WCCMF and Cork County Council to compose a new work for harpsichord, celebrating the Cork County harpsichord's 25th anniversary. This work will be performed Thursday 4 July at 11am (Event 56).
