Go on a musical journey through the centuries with these two exceptional performers in a lunchtime concert of sublime music for violin and piano from romantic gems such as Clara Schumann's Three Romances and Lili Boulanger's Nocturne to stunning pieces by iconic American composers Ruth Crawford Seeger and Florence Price. The duo are renowned for their passionate championing of music by Irish composers and the concert will also include two beautiful recent works by Deirdre McKay who celebrates a significant birthday in 2022.
Darragh Morgan's playing has been described as 'hugely impressive' and having 'seemingly effortless control' (The Strad). A renowned exponent of contemporary music, Darragh has appeared as a soloist with orchestras and at festivals around the world. He is a passionate chamber musician and a founder member of ‘the virtuosic Fidelio Trio’ (Sunday Times), whose performances have been described as 'absolutely wonderful' (BBC Radio 3 Record Review) and who have appeared at prestigious venues around the globe.
He is joined onstage by pianist Mary Dullea, in demand as a solo and chamber musician at prestigious venues and festivals around the world, and whose frequent broadcasts include BBC Radio 3 and RTÉ Lyric fm. Mary is the Artistic Director and founder of Chamber Music on Valentia, an annual chamber music festival in Co. Kerry, Ireland. A sought-after interpreter of new music, she has commissioned and premiered numerous works from composers, notably with The Fidelio Trio and with her partner, violinist Darragh Morgan.
