Music from CMC CDs is used as the soundtrack for a film to be screened at the Dublin Film Festival.

The film, Child of the Dead End directed by Desmond Bell, will be screened at the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival on Saturday 27 February.  Thanks to promotional work by CMC, its soundtrack uses music by Irish composers taken from CMC's promotional CD series, Contemporary Music from Ireland. The music used is by Dave Flynn, Greg Caffrey, Andrew Hamilton, Siobhan Cleary, Rachel Holstead, Kevin O'Connell, and Judith Ring.

Child of the Dead End is a creative documentary exploring the rags to riches story of Irish  writer and migrant worker Patrick MacGill. The story is set against the historical background of the rise of the labour movement, the first world war and the  Irish struggle for independence. MacGill’s story comes alive by a subtle blending of  drama and early cinema archive. Fable and document, storytelling and witness mix and merge in MacGill’s charged writing.
