A work for guitar and orchestra by Ciaran Farrell will be premiered in the Ulster Hall in June

BBC Radio 3 presents the world premiere of Ciarán Farrell's Roots featuring guitarist Craig Ogden and the Ulster Orchestra at the Ulster Hall, Belfast, on 13 June 2010.

The new, four-movement work, commissioned by BBC Radio 3 with additional funds from the Arts Council of Ireland will be the centrepiece of a concert that forms part of a greater series of concerts running throughout the day as part of the BBC's showcase of its performing groups. The Ulster Orchestra slot will be between 9:30pm and 11.00pm on that day.

Australian-born guitarist Craig Ogden is one of the most exciting artists of his generation.
