Breathe: new notes for flute from Ireland and New Zealand, CD from William Dowdall
To celebrate the release of Breathe, (new notes for flute from Ireland and New Zealand 1978-2010) William Dowdall will perform the first of two concerts of music from the CD in the SUNDAYS @ NOON CONCERT SERIES.
On Sunday 17th October the programme includes a world premiere performance of John Buckley’s Constellations for flutes with layered pre-recorded flutes. Audiences can also enjoy Philip Hammond’s Wavespace for solo flute and Raymond Deane’s Tekeli-li for solo flute. Willam will also perform the Irish premieres of Kevin O'Connell ‘s Ictus for solo flute and alto flute, Benjamin Dwyer’s Crow (new version for sliding headjoint flute) and New Zealand Composer Stephen Matthews’ Te Ao Marama for flutes with pre-recorded backing.
This performance takes place at 12:00 noon as part of the SUNDAYS @ NOON CONCERT SERIES, DUBLIN CITY GALLERY , THE HUGH LANE. Admission is free.
