Launch of 'Uneven Score - An Assessment of the Gender Balance for Publicly Funded Composer Opportunities on the Island of Ireland 2004-2019'
Uneven Score - An Assessment of the Gender Balance for Publicly Funded Composer Opportunities on the Island of Ireland 2004-2019 was launched at IMRO, Dublin on Wednesday 8 November 2023. The report was researched and written by independent Research Associate Dr Michael Lydon, and serves to document gender within contemporary music composition between 2004-19, presenting an assessment of the gender balance of publicly funded composer opportunities on the island of Ireland. Sounding the Feminists and the Contemporary Music Centre were joint commissioners of this research which was funded by the Arts Council of Ireland / An Chomhairle Ealaíon. The launch of Uneven Score included an introduction and overview of the report by Dr Michael Lydon with questions taken from attendees in the room and online.
