Continuing their season's vocal theme, Music for Galway welcome two of Ireland’s finest artists, tenor Gavan Ring and pianist Fiachra Garvey for a recital presenting music both familiar and new. Vaughan Williams’ hugely evocative song cycle ‘Songs of Travel’ was the inspiration for Stephen McNeff’s much more recent settings of poetry by Irish poet Sigerson Clifford. Beethoven’s masterful late E major solo piano sonata and a selection of popular Irish folk-songs round off the perfect evening’s entertainment.
