With the program HEART BLOWING – THE HEART BLOWS, the flagship of contemporary music, Ensemble Musikfabrik, in collaboration with the festivals AFEKT, ARĒNA, and New Music Dublin, presents world and Estonian premieres by composers Krõõt-Kärt Kaev, Jānis Petraškevičs, Ailís Ní Ríain, and Georges Aperghis.
Founded in 1990 and based in Cologne, Ensemble Musikfabrik has become one of Europe’s leading laboratories for contemporary music. The ensemble continuously commissions and creates new works, exploring the intersections of music, theatre, and technology, and working closely with composers and artists from around the world.
Musikfabrik and AFEKT share a long-standing collaboration, through which many works by Estonian composers have entered the ensemble’s regular repertoire.
