Inspired by some of the most beloved cities, the Panorama Series brings audiences on a musical tour exploring place and the music it inspired.
Panorama series curator and former NCH Rising Star, Fiachra Garvey, commences the series with a solo piano recital.
Beginning with a musical portrait of New York City (Gershwin’s iconic Rhapsody in Blue), the musical journey continues, taking in the mythical city of Y’s (Debussy’s La Cathédrale Engloutie), the authentic district of Triana (Albeniz) in Seville, a quick jaunt to Venice with Mendelssohn, a local visit to the North Circular (Donnacha Dennehy) in Dublin, before heading east to Berlin (Garrett Sholdice’s Am Koppenplatz) and the Gates of Kiev (Mussorgsky’s gargantuan Pictures at an Exhibition).
