'Cocteau'

A solo piano recital by the internationally acclaimed pianist Isabelle O’Connell, featuring a new work (Irish premiere) by CMC composer Rhona Clarke, inspired by the French poet, novelist, artist, film maker and playwright, Jean Cocteau.

Sundays at Noon is delighted to welcome the return of New York based Isabelle O’Connell. Born in Dublin, she has been described by Broadway World as One of “New York’s most exciting artists and top new music interpreters“. The programme of solo piano music centres around the iconic French artist Jean Cocteau and Rhona Clarke’s new work Cocteau. his piece was composed last year especially for O’Connell, developed by the composer and performer as part of CMC's Contemporary Artists Network, an initiative which facilitates New Music collaborations. Music by Cocteau’s associates will also feature, including that of ‘Les Six’ (Satie, Poulenc, Milhaud, Honegger & Tailleferre) and his other major collaborator, Stravinsky.
