The Ina Boyle Songbook Launch & Concert

An Ina Boyle Society and Irish Heritage Collaboration.

This concert will feature some of the work of composer Ina Boyle, a student of Ralph Vaughan Williams. The evening will also see the launch of the Songbook of Ina Boyle's compositions. The book has been collated and edited by Dr Orla Shannon (CMC Scholar-in-residence 2018) and David Scott. A selection of songs, chosen from the Ina Boyle Songbook, will be given their first 'live' performance by Irish Heritage students Laura Aherne (Soprano), Conor Campbell (Baritone), Frasier Hickland (piano) and Georgina Cassidy (piano). Dr Orla Shannon (principal Editor of the Songbook), will introduce the Songs. The programme also includes music by two of Ina Boyle's contemporaries, Rhoda Coghill 1903-2000 (pianist, composer, and poet) and Elizabeth Maconchy 1907 - 1994 (a longtime friend of Ina Boyle's).

Doors open at 7pm, concert begins at 7.30. Tickets £20 / £5 for students, ticket includes wine reception.
