Each year, soundfestival showcases the variety of innovative music being created today, from classical to jazz, electroacoustic, and sound art.
This October, Chamber Choir Ireland will set a meditative scene with Tallis' Lamentations, before performing contemporary choral music by Irish composers.
David Fennessy's Letter to Michael reads the unsent letters of a desperate woman. Rhona Clarke's Requiem omits judgement, embracing perpetual light. Cassandra Miller's The City, Full of People, inspired by the opening Lamentations, closes the concert in a ‘cacophony of private secrets’.
The City, Full of People was commissioned by Eamonn Quinn of Louth Contemporary Music Society with funding provided by the Arts Council of Ireland and Robert D. Bielecki Foundation.
Supported by Culture Ireland.
