The Studio, National Concert Hall

Featuring: Caitríona O’Leary, singer; Morgan Crowley, singer; Camilla Griehsel, singer.
Roger Doyle’s 'distinctive… strangely beautiful' (Critics Choice Award Opera News, USA, 2021) full-length electronic opera iGIRL was originally released as a studio recording, produced during the covid lockdown. This late-evening concert will be the first chance to hear extracts from the work performed live, sung by three of the most compelling artists working in Ireland today.
iGIRL explores female grief, sorrow and sacrifice and – through the voices of mythological and historical characters – offers an insight into themes highly relevant in contemporary society. In this concert we meet Joan of Arc, Oedipus and Antigone.
