The Artefacts Project an exhibition by Lorcan Walshe featuring an interactive installation by Eoin Callery
Hunt Museum

As part of visual artist Lorcan Walshe's 'The Artefacts Project' exhibition at the Hunt Museum in Limerick, composer and sound artist Eoin Callery has created an interactive installation from recordings he made of several early Irish and medieval bells from the Hunt's collection, including the famous Cashel Bell. The result is that every hour a different short sound piece is played in which the bells are heard with — and by the use of novel processing, through — sonic scenes from around Limerick city: the bells articulating the sounds of the present day city.
In addition, there are lots of other interactive parts to the installation, including some that allow you to convolved/hear yourself through the bells etc. These bells have hardly been heard over the last 1000 or so years, so it’s well worth the trip to the Shannonside to see and hear them in these unique ways.
