THE WASTE LAND WITH NICK ROTH QUINTET directed by Adrian Dunbar Saturday, 23rd & Sunday, 24th November, 2019.
Performance
T.S. Eliot’s The Waste Land is widely regarded as one of the most important poems of the 20th century. Director Adrian Dunbar (Line of Duty) sets the poem in a multimedia staging for four actors, Stanley Townsend (All About Eve at the National; Informer and The Tunnel), Orla Charlton, Frank Mc Cusker and Anna Nygh, with a score for live jazz quintet by composer Nick Roth. Dunbar takes as inspiration the idea of Sibylline Fragments - throwing letters in the air and making sense of them as they fall.
