Paul Collins was born in Dublin. He studied organ and harpsichord at the College of Music in Dublin and gained a degree in music and Irish from Trinity College Dublin. In 1997, he was awarded an MA in Performance and Musicology by the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. He also holds a Fellowship in organ from Trinity College of Music, London, and has given recitals in Ireland, Italy and the USA. In 2001 he gained a PhD in musicology from NUI, Maynooth.
Paul Collins has written instrumental and secular works, and is lecturer in baroque and early music at Mary Immaculate College, Unversity of Limerick.
