Clarinettist and Composer Christopher Moriarty is one of the most accomplished artists of his  generation. Described by the New York Epoch Times as a “…virtuoso clarinettist…” with “…élan and  virtuoso flair” for his debut performance as soloist at Carnegie Hall, New York with the New York  Sinfonietta his duel career as performer and composer of art music has gone from strength to  strength.

As Clarinettist, he is a former winner of the Irish Freemasons Young Musician of the Year and the  Jago Award at the RDS Bursary Awards. He has been invited to perform as soloist with both the  National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland and the RTE Concert Orchestra in the works of Nielsen,  Copland and Mozart.

With a focus on new, contemporary and experimental music he is a founding member of Ensemble  Getögon (Ensemble Goateyes) , Stockholm, Sweden. Ensemble Getögon is a new music chamber  ensemble focused on the commissioning, performance and proliferation of the work of living  composers and artists across a range of genres and disciplines. Most recently their acclaimed debut  at Fylkingen, Stockholm saw the ensemble perform in collaboration with the Irish electronic artist  Tadhg Kinsella in their concert series Våra Egna Getter (Our Own Goats) , funded by Culture Ireland  and Konstnärsnämnden.

2023 sees the release of his second studio album as composer. Fiseanna an Ghiorria, commissioned  by Irish Pianist Oran Halligan and funded by the Arts Council of Ireland, will feature on Halligans  debut album Visions together with previously unheard 19th C. music by Irish composers. Visions  follows on from John Finucane and Elisabeta Bluminas’ 2016 album of Clarinet and Piano music by  Irish composers entitled Irish Holidays. His work Opaque Rhapsody for clarinet and piano was  featured on the album, recorded on the Genuin Classics recording label (Germany).
