Northern Lights Project: RAMP Sound Walk & Composition Workshop

Deadline: 16 May 2025 00:00

Sound artists and composers are invited to attend a Dawn Chorus Sound Walk led by naturalist Aengus Kennedy in breathtaking Glenveagh National Park on Sunday 18 May 2025. Artists are encouraged to collect field recordings on this walk, working alongside Guillaume Beauron, to use as creative material for use in RAMP festival’s complementary composition workshop led by Kate Carr (soundscape composition) and Guillaume (field recording practice) on Friday 18 July.

The Contemporary Music Centre, Ireland (CMC) is delighted to support Irish sound artists and composers to engage with this unique composition opportunity by offering 5 travel and accommodation bursaries of €200.

Artists wishing to apply for the CMC travel & accommodation bursaries, please note:

  • Priority in the selection process is given to those committing to attend both the sound walk in May and the workshop in July.
  • Bursaries are for travel and accommodation only.
