Vincent Kennedy is the featured composer at the first Donegal Chamber Music Festival

Presented by Donegal Chamber Music Society, the festival takes place in Glenveagh Castle, Co. Donegal from 30 May to 1 June and will feature a number of Vincent Kennedy’s works.

On Friday 30 May at 8pm, a new arrangement of the Dublin-based composer’s work Memories will be performed by Sarah Murphy (flute), Orsolya Szabó-Yélamo (violin), Lucia Spacirova (viola), and Víctor Yélamo (cello).

Vincent Kennedy’s music will also feature in two concerts given by the Donegal Music Education Partnership Junior String Orchestra and the Donegal Chamber Orchestra on 31 May at the Glebe Gallery.

The premiere of a new work for string quartet features in the final concert of the festival on 1 June at 8pm in Glenveagh. The work A Beautiful Peace - Butterflies Over Gartan will be performed by the Donegal Camerata String Quintet.
