St Patrick’s College Drumcondra and its Artists-in-Residence the Fidelio Trio invites submissions of scores for piano trios (deadline 8 November)
The Music Department at St Patrick’s College Drumcondra (SPD) is seeking submissions from composers for scores written for piano trio (violin, cello, piano) with or without an electronic component. Selected works will be given workshop readings by The Fidelio Trio at the Composition Forum taking place at the College on Thursday 5 December 2013. The duration of pieces is open, although sections from longer works may be selected by the Trio. While priority will be given to new works, those which have been performed previously will be considered. Selected composers must be present to participate at the Forum. The pieces selected will be workshopped by the internationally acclaimed Fidelio Trio who were appointed artists-in residence at the College in 2012.
This workshop will focus on composers currently finishing postgraduate studies and those who already working professionally. Undergraduate student composers are advised that this would be an ideal opportunity to attend and observe in order to gain experience towards the intervarsity composition forum (details to be posted later by SPD) which will be hosted by St Patrick’s College in March 2014 featuring the Fidelio Trio.
Scores and parts in PDF format may be sent to carol.davis@spd.dcu.ie or a hard copy together with contact details may be posted to:
