An Irish Fantasy completes the Fionnuala Hunt – A Reflection concert series

On 14 August Irish violinist Fionnuala Hunt completes her three-concert series A Reflection with a concert called Irish Fantasy.

Fionnuala is known both as a soloist and for her time as Artistic and Music Director of the Irish Chamber Orchestra, and has been involved in the commissioning and premiering of works by leading Irish composers. An album of her own arrangements of tangos, performed by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, has been released on the AVIE label. The three-part Fionnuala Hunt – A Reflection concert series examines the influence of these diverse elements on her career: directing a chamber orchestra, tango music, and now, the chamber music of Irish composers.

Joined by her sister, Una Hunt (piano), and Rachel Kelly, Fionnuala will perform woks by C.V Stanford, Hamilton Harty, E.J. Moeran, Herbert Hughes, W.V Wallace and others. The concert title is taken from a recent album of the same name released on Grammercy Records by Fionnuala and Una, featuring music by these composers as well as arrangements of traditional airs.
