SoundSCAPE Annual Irish Residency Awarded to Siobhán Cleary
The Association of Irish Composers (AIC) and the Contemporary Music Centre (CMC) announce Siobhán Cleary as the recipient of the first Annual Irish Residency at the soundSCAPE Festival in Maccagno, Italy.
The festival will take place from 30 June–13 July 2013. In her role as Irish Artist-in-Residence, Siobhán will curate a concert of contemporary Irish chamber works and give a seminar on recent electronic music from Ireland, while also contributing to the festival’s composition colloquia and masterclasses.
Applications for this new residency covered a wide range of artistic styles and voices. The director of the soundSCAPE Festival Nathanael May said, “It was wonderful to see such a diverse group of artists and music represented in the proposals we received for the Irish Residency; we are excited to present Siobhan Cleary’s curated concert and lectures at the 2013 festival in July!”
