The Galway Music Residency hosts a 3-day 10th anniversary festival

The Galway Music Residency, with Music for Galway, celebrates its tenth anniversary with a three-day festival of concerts, talks and workshops in venues in NUI Galway. Artists who will perform include the ensemble-in-residence The ConTempo Quartet, pianist Isabelle O'Connell, accordionist Dermot Dunne, guitarist/singer Ariel Hernandez and the RTÉ Vanbrugh Quartet. Events include a workshop with Isabelle O'Connell, a talk with composers Jane O'Leary and Karen Power (the Galway Music Residency Composer-in-Residence) and a concert of piano quintets, including music by O'Leary, and a new work, hearing leaves by Karen Power.

  • 28 February, 8pm: 'A Night of Latin American Music and Song', ConTempo Quartet, Dermot Dunne and Ariel Hernandez in concert, Aula Maxima
  • 1 March, 1.10pm: 'Music & Words', ConTempo Quartet and poet Kevin O'Shea, Galway City Library
  • 1 March, 8pm: 'Octets, Sextets and Quartets', ConTempo Quartet and Vanbrugh Quartet in concert, Aula Maxima
