At the February Kaleidoscope, curators Cliodhna Ryan and Kate Ellis will present a programme that 'explores the new and old and celebrates the lyrical beauty and diversity of Irish music'. The night includes performers new to the salon night, and two new world premieres. The first is 'Work for Quartet', a new work by young Irish composer, and founder of Kirkos, Sebastian Adams, performed by the Robinson Panoramic Quartet. The second will be a piece for solo cello performed by Kate Ellis, selected from a piece written especially for her by members of the Irish Composers' Collective.

Also on the programme are performances from violinist Zoe Conway and guitarist John McIntyre, who will play music from their recently released album of new commissions for fiddle and guitar, Go Mairir I Bhfad_Long Life to You. The night will open with a Violin Sonata by Jean-Marie LeClair on baroque violin (Anita Vedres) and violone (Malachy Robinson), and will end with a performance of Bill Whelan's Inishlacken by all the performers of the night, also joined by Larissa O'Grady and Robin Pinter.

Kaleidoscope will take place at The Odessa Club, 13 Dame St, Dublin on Wednesday 6 February, 9pm. Tickets €12 and are available from www.entertainment.ie/tickets (01 8748208).
