Crash Ensemble perform a concert of Linda Buckley’s works

Fresh from their successful appearance as ensemble-in-residence at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, the group will perform a programme of Linda Buckley’s works at the Courthouse Arts Centre, Tinahealy, Co. Wicklow on 24 November.

Crash Ensemble will present a selection of Buckley’s works for solo instruments and tape as well as Fiol, a string trio inspired by the soundworld of the Norwegian Hardanger fiddle and Silk Chroma, a collaboration between the composer and visual music artist Maura McDonnell. The concert will also feature Linda Buckley perform as vocalist.

Cork-born Linda Buckley, whose music has been described as “strange and beautiful” (Boston Globe, July 2004), is RTÉ lyric fm’s current composer-in-residence. Recent performers of her work include the Irish Chamber Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, which performed her RTÉ commission last July.
