Linda Buckley’s music features in the Irish Chamber Orchestra’s October tour
The Irish Chamber Orchestra’s (ICO) October tour will feature the Cork-born composer’s Fall Approaches in concerts in Galway (17th), Limerick (18th), Sligo (19th), Kells (20th), Mallow (25th), and Listowel (26th).
Linda Buckley’s Fall Approaches (Haustid Nalgast) is an arrangement of an earlier piece for choir and electronics. The work, which is inspired by Icelandic poetry, was previously performed by the ICO in May of this year.
The concert, entitled Minalism and Melody, also includes Philip Glass’ Symphony No. 3, Schubert’s Rondo in A for Violin and Strings D. 438 (with soloist Katherine Hunka), and Dvořák’s Serenade Op. 22.
Further information on the performances is available from CMC’s calendar and the Irish Chamber Orchestra’s web site.
