The Fidelio Trio take up a residency at St Patrick’s College, Dublin
The Music Department of St Patrick’s College, Dublin announce the appointment of the Fidelio Trio for the inaugural year of its Artists-in-Residence scheme. The residency, which is jointly funded by The Arts Council and the College commences in autumn 2012 and promises an exciting schedule of concerts, workshops, projects and seminars.
The Fidelio Trio perform extremely diverse repertoire internationally and features London-based Irish musicians Darragh Morgan (violin), Mary Dullea (piano) and Scottish cellist Robin Michael. Formed in 1995, they have an international profile appearing at venues including London’s Wigmore Hall, Shanghai Oriental Arts Centre, Casa da Musica, Porto, Palazzo Albrizzi, Venice and Symphony Space, New York City. Their 2012/13 season includes performances at City of London Festival, UK Capital of Culture Walled City Festival and a tour of South Africa.
The Residency is designed around the four inter-related strands of performance, education/community, ensemble workshops, and composition workshops. In addition to the programming of concerts at St Patrick’s College, DCU and beyond, the Trio will engage in interactive workshops with student teachers, undergraduate and postgraduate music students, children, practising teachers, amateur musicians and other community groups.
