The Irish Chamber Orchestra performs music by Linda Buckley
The orchestra will perform her work Fall Approaches in two concerts in Doneraile Co. Cork and Portlaoise Co. Laois on 24 and 25 May.
Fall Approaches (Haustid Nalgast) is a string arrangement of a piece for choir and electronics originally composed by Linda Buckley for the New Dublin Voices in 2007. Inspired by Icelandic poetry, the work is based on a traditional form of narrative Icelandic epic song which is chanted or intoned in a specific manner.
Linda Buckley’s Fall Approaches will be performed alongside music by Bach, Elgar and Tchaikovsky.
