Words on the Street

CMC is one of the host venues for European Literature Night on Wednesday 16 May, from 6.30–9.30pm. Here are some details on the event:

Dublin writers are famous the world over. Try a taste of contemporary European writing with readings from Irish celebrities and UK authors Bernard MacLaverty and Joe Dunthorne in 12 unusual venues around Christ Church and Temple Bar.

Go from venue to venue having a coffee or a drink along the way.

At the Contemporary Music Centre Joe Dunthorne will read an action-packed section from his second novel Wild Abandon. Joe Dunthorne’s debut novel, Submarine, won the Curtis Brown Prize and has been translated in to ten languages and an acclaimed film adaptation and Wild Abandon, was published in 2011. His poetry has been widely published and he has helped set up The Ministry of Stories in Hackney, East London – a centre of inspiration for young people much like Roddy Doyle’s Fighting Words.
