CMC CD is launched by Arts Council Director Orlaith McBride
Our new CD Contemporary Music from Ireland, Volume 10 was officially launched by Arts Council Director, Orlaith McBride, in front of a large audience in CMC last night.

The event included a live performance from clarinetist Paul Roe of two works - Amanda Feery’s Rattle, which features on the CD, and Ed Bennett’s Monster. Three of the electronic works from the CD by Neil O’Connor, Ailís Ní Ríain, Donal Sarsfield were also presented in CMC’s courtyard.
Launching the CD, Orlaith McBride, Director of the Arts Council said: “The success of the Contemporary Music Centre (CMC) lies not just in how it has helped to promote the work of Irish composers; it is also the manner in which it has documented the development of new Irish music since that first CD was released.”

We were delighted to see so many people at the event and were especially pleased that 8 out of the 10 composers whose music features on the CD were able to make the event.The CD is now available to order from our shop and a selection of tracks from the CD may also be listened to on CMC’s Bandcamp site.
