Members of Concorde open Autumn CMC Salon Series.
The Contemporary Music Centre’s forthcoming new music::new Ireland salon at 6pm, on Wednesday 28th September 2011, in the Kevin Barry Room of the National Concert Hall, opens the Centre’s Autumn Salon series. The series continues in Oct and Nov 2011.
All the works in the September Salon are by composers with which Concorde has had a close relationship during its thirty five year history. Tine Verbeke, Voice and Martin Johnson, Cello will perform the following: James Wilson, Undesirables; Alyson Barber, Boithre Bana; Elaine Agnew, Snowhole; and Ed Bennett, You're always right!. Jane O’Leary, composer and director of Concorde will also be in attendance to talk about these works.
The CMC Salon series aims to encourage newcomers and enthusiasts alike to engage with the music of Irish Composers. Each performance takes place in an informal atmosphere with dialogue encouraged between composers, performers and audience.
The CMC Salons have no admission fee and last for approximately one hour.
