Culture Night 2011 at the Contemporary Music Centre
This year for the second time The Contemporary Music Centre opens its entire building to the public on Culture Night, Friday, 6pm – 10pm, 23 September 2011, with a very special programme of music events including live performance, installations and a multi-media exhibition.
The Spatial Music Collective with composers Linda Buckley, Jonathan Nangle, Enda Bates and Brian Bridges will create a sonic experience throughout CMC’s entire building in Fishamble Street, inspired by the past and the location, in the shadow of Handel, and shaped by the future. This will include an installation throughout the stairwell, a sound installation with light boxes in the courtyard, and live performance with new works for harp and electronics, written especially for Cliona Doris, harp, in the library.
The night will also include an exhibiton by Concorde to celebrate its 35th anniversary and will begin with the launch at 5pm of Concorde’s forthcoming Up Close with Music concert series, November 2011 to July 2012.
Join CMC for this exciting evening of New Music from Ireland.
