Irish Museum of Modern Art : In Conversation Series
The most extensive exhibition to date from the Museum's own collection, The Moderns at IMMA (Oct 20th 2010 –Feburary 13th 2011) explored the development of modernity in Ireland in the period 1900 to 1975, including the development of modern composition. Reflecting the multidisciplinary nature of the Moderns exhibition, IMMA hosts a series of open conversations on various art forms between the following poets and composers on Sunday 6th March 2011.
The Poets
Sunday 6 March 2011, 2.00pm, Lecture Room, IMMA
This conversation explores the history of Irish poetry and the role poets played in the expression of Irish Modernism both nationally and internationally. Chairperson Gerald Dawe steers a discussion between the poets, Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin and Peter Fallon.
The Composers
Sunday 6 March 2011, 3.30pm, Lecture Room, IMMA
Speaking out of the context of their own professional practice Chairperson Bernard Clarke steers an open conversation between Irish composers Gerald Barry and Donnacha Dennehy.
