A new book on Seoirse Bodley is now available from Field Day Books

Dr. Gareth Cox, Prof. Seóirse Bodley, His Excellency Bobby McDonagh, Irish Ambassador to Britain

The first book on the music of one of Ireland’s foremost living composers, Seóirse Bodley was recently launched at Durham University by His Excellency Bobby McDonagh, Irish Ambassador to Britain.

Speaking at the launch, the author, Gareth Cox said that Bodley’s music had been both an enormous source of pleasure and a multifaceted challenge for him over many years, and he hoped that the book would stimulate more performances of Bodley’s music.

The book is the fourth in a series by Field Day Publications (Dublin) on the classical music tradition in Ireland. Those others editions published in the series to date include:

Field Day Music 1: Aloys Fleischmann, author Séamas de Barra

Field Day Music 2: Raymond Deane, author Patrick Zuk
