The Irish ensemble, Quartet for the end of Time, will perform the 2004 work by Deane in Wicklow, Wexford and Dublin from 1 to 3 October 2010 alongside Messiaen’s Quartett pour la fin du temps.

Quartet for the end of Time is made up of Gwendolyn Masin (violin), Tara-Lee Angell (cello), Sergio Neves (clarinet) and pianist Jovanni-Rey de Pedro.

Ice Flowers was originally written for the Danish Nordlys Ensemble for the Hans Christian Andersen centenary. The work was inspired by the author's celebrated tale The Snow Queen.

The tour is presented by Music Artists Management Ireland with funding from Music Network's Performance and Touring Award.
