Southbank Centre

Get ready to enter an eclectic soundscape woven together by composer-pianist Xenia Pestova Bennett and performed by Hard Rain SoloistEnsemble.
Glow presents a magical sound-world that blends the Magnetic Resonator Piano with a contemporary chamber ensemble, weaving semi-improvised elements and field recordings together with intricate, extended techniques.
Glow was commissioned by Northern Ireland’s premier new music group, Hard Rain SoloistEnsemble, and written by the innovative composer-pianist Xenia Pestova Bennett, who also joins the ensemble on stage.
Part of New Music Biennial, this event includes two performances of the same work and a short interview with the creative team in between the two, enabling audiences to experience the second performance with greater insight into the creative process.
