Pianist and composer Xenia Pestova Bennett presents her immersive, award-winning project, All Aglow. Taking its inspiration from coastal bioluminescence (a range of glowing behaviours exhibited by marine life and bacteria), All Aglow explores resonance, memory, improvisation and the changing environment. Prepared piano (with objects gently inserted and placed to vibrate on the strings) is combined with nostalgic analogue synthesizers and field recordings of seascapes, cold-water swimmer interviews and historic texts to create a mysterious auditory mix, adding elements of sonic time-travel and blurring stylistic boundaries.
This event follows an earlier concert with Sinfonia Viva and ticket holders can access this After Hours event for free.
