INDIECORK presents "REACTION and DISRUPTION" - live music to short films.
Reaction
For the second year IndieCork presents 'Reaction' - a Sonic Response to Film. Emerging composers were invited to share an expression of interest to participate in this event. The four artists selected - Anderinna Gooch, Dylan Murphy, Gabriel Buffa and Megan Churcher - were given two weeks to produce an accompaniment to a previously unseen ten-minute short film. Contributors were chosen by IndieCork for their originality and diversity of styles. Their responses, or reactions, to the visuals will be fresh and surprising.
Reaction received support from the Contemporary Music Centre, Ireland.
Disruption - The Orchestra of Disquiet
The Orchestra Of Disquiet is an ensemble of artists and musicians formed at MTU in 2023 and directed by experimental composer-performer Andy Ingamells. They perform new music using objects and unusual hand-built instruments as soundtracks to hand-made analogue films, alongside classics of 20th century avant-garde repertoire by composers like Pauline Oliveros and John White.
