Irish Composers Collective: ICC20 Duos

This year, the Irish Composers’ Collective is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a series of concerts taking place throughout Ireland. On the 25th of May, the ICC travelled to Limerick City to premiere several new pieces of music that were written specifically for a variety of eclectic duos.

For the concert, twelve of Ireland’s top emerging composers were paired off and tasked with writing ten minutes of music. The project proved to be a hit and now 4 of the 6 Duos will return for a second performance in Dublin’s premiere DIY arts venue, Unit 44.

They are:
Jack Mahony & Avril Kneafsey
Alannah Jennings & Jack Doherty
Trudy Maguire & Oisín Dilger
Jackie Fletcher & Andy Ingamells

The duos are comprised of composers from diverse backgrounds and creative practices, ensuring a varied programme of music that will be enjoyed by anyone who appreciates both traditional and unconventional approaches to music making.

They will be joined by several special guests who will also perform works of their own creation.
