Solstice Arts Centre

Language, Land, Sea: listening across continents

Composer: Karen Power

Performer/Deviser: Loré Lixenberg

Experience the world premiere of Karen Power’s uncategorisable sound and performance work, an immersion into the sounds and sights of some of the world’s most remote (as well as its every day) locations.

'Language Land Sea' is a performance environment that invites us to become attentive while listening. Can natural sound structures and harmonies throughout the globe help us to rediscover the evolutionary parallels between humans, land, and the sea? Celebrated vocal experimentalist Loré Lixenberg is our guide through this unique sonic labyrinth, as she rebuilds her inherent relationship with our living planet.

Q&A with the composer Karen Power and performer Loré Lixenberg follows the performance.

This project is generously supported by The Arts Coucil Music Commissions and Projects Awards.

Tickets

The performance at Solstice Arts Centre starts at 8 pm and lasts approximately 45 minutes. It is followed by a Q&A with Karen Power and Loré Lixenberg. Booking via Solstice Arts.
